Born and raised in Lima-Peru, I moved to San Francisco California in August of 1998. I discovered sewing in San Francisco City College back in 2000, and never looked back. My passion for sewing added to the purpose of my life as a professional and new mom entrepreneur. I was blessed to have such knowledgeable instructors and mentors that shared with me the art of sewing. During my student years I started sewing for friends, mainly doing alterations, and also started as an intern to make customs for San Francisco Carnaval, which happens every year in May; it was wonderful to combine my love for dancing and sewing. In 2020, I decided to make my hobby a business!
I started to educate myself on how to open a home base business in Richmond Ca. and started taking business classes with Latina Center and Renaissance. In 2021 Erika Ipanaque Atelier was officially born. I loved to be able to help my clients with their fitting needs, and also share with them the importance of having a wardrobe that fits.

Not to worry! This is a very casual appointment but very necessary for client and seamstress to understand each other, and have a clear plan for the garment.
